Who am I?

I am a UCKP registered trainee Transactional Analysis Psychotherapist. Before training in psychotherapy, I worked in the film and theatre industry for 20 years as an Acting Coach. I currently volunteer as a Therapist for elop, an LGBTQ+ mental health and well-being charity based in East London.

I am a gay man, a parent, and I live and travel between London and Shropshire with my two whippets.

What is my approach?

I am a Transactional Analysis therapist. I work relationally, which means I’m not silent; we talk together.

Transactional Analysis (TA) helps us figure out how to relate to each other and why we behave the way we do. It breaks things down into simple terms — no jargon — helping us spot patterns in our relationships and choices. Using this approach helps build self-awareness and communication skills, making it easier to have healthier relationships and make wiser decisions. Ultimately, leading to better emotional well-being. Plus, TA focuses on working together and empowering people, which is great for anyone looking to create positive change in their lives.

Intersectionality

I am deeply committed to anti-oppressive practice in my psychotherapy work, and this is an ongoing part of my learning and life experience.

I train at one of the leading psychotherapy training institutions in the UK that centres their training through the intersectional lens. I have experience working with oppressed and minority clients such as BAME, Neurodivergent, and LGBTQIA+ communities.

I hope to offer allyship in all of these areas, and to create a safe, inclusive space in which we can navigate any differences that may arise in or impact our relationship, and a space in which all elements of our intersectional identities are welcome.
